BUILDING CONSTRUCTION 2
PROJECT 1 : SKELETAL CONSTRUCTION ( TEMPORARY BUS SHELTER)
In a group of 5 , we are required to build a temporary bus shelther. The structure need to demonstrate the knowledge of skeletal frames and its joints. It must clearly define all building components such as roof, column, walls and floor. Analysis of our design, construction progress and test results are recorded and bound into a A3report. The completed shelter is tested to withstand lateral forces by our lecturers.

PROJECT 2 : UNDERSTANDING FORCES IN BUILDING CONSTRUCTION
Work in a group of 3-4, students required to propose a building (tensile/membrane construction or grid shell construction) and identify the structural systems used in the construction of the building. Describe each structural system identified in terms of function, material and load distribution. We need to produce a model on an A3 base showing the structural systems used as well as a detailed model showing appropriate constructional joints. Also prepare 1 A2 size sheet, utilizing both sides of the sheet which includes the analysis of the success or failure of the model together with the mitigating measures, brief introduction of the building, construction method from its sub-structure to super structure, modelling process as well as detailing of different parts of the buildings to show how it is constructed. Additional to the above requirements, we will also need to manually draw 1 exploded axonometric construction detail.
