PROJECT 2 : MODERN ARCHITECTURE IN KLANG VALLEY

This project requires us to document a Modern Malaysian Architecture by visiting, taking photographs, and interviewing. My group and I have chosen to do the Telekom Tower owned by the Telekom Malaysia. The building is designed by Hijjas Kasturi Associates, one of the main architecture firm that created Kl's skyline. It features smart use of the climate by orienting the building's facade towards the North and West. On the East and South, sky gardens are placed at the side for clean air and maximum sunlight. It also acts as a retreat from the busy offices. Furthermore, the building also uses smart green technology air-conditioning system and double decker lifts for quick access. The building is one of the green skyscraper in Malaysia and that's what makes it so unique.

This project allowed me to know more about Menara Telekom itself from different aspects such as its architectural style, methods and techiniques of deisgning a building as well as its construction details. We're glad that one of the architects from Hijjas Kasturi manage to help us in terms of explaining the design concept and plans of the Telekom Tower which allows us to understand more of the circulation of the building.
