PROJECT 2b : RETREAT HOUSE

Continuation of Project 2A, this project extends the understanding of design concept and process. It introduces the notion of architectural space making through the design of a user specific architectural scheme. This project explores the relationship between architectural tectonics, function and space in architecture. It is important for student's work to reflect their understanding of how architecture is created by applying the basic design principles and spatial organization skills. Students work must also illustrate an understanding of how a building is conceptualized and transformed into reality.

REFLECTION :

This marks the end of design studio 2. I've learned a lot throughout this journey. By applying my knowledge on analysing the site context to its connectivity with the building itself, it helps me a lot on create a space which both human activity and environment interact with each other implying on the romantic theme and the space which a yogi desires. I'm very thankful for Mr.Angus in helping me and teaching me on the structural details and sustainable designing the building itself as it helps me to create a building that is not only buildable to the surrounding but also unique in a sense of sustainability and connectivity of spatial planning.
